The EOS-1D X Mark III

It is the latest high-end, ultra-tough, hyper-fast DSLR from Canon. From the outside, it looks about the same as previous EOS-1D bodies dating back two decades. But on the inside, there are radical updates. And even though this is a big, double-grip DSLR, it functions as a highly capable mirrorless camera in Live View mode provided you've got the muscle to hold it out in front of you for extended periods.

This is also a camera that can take you beyond 8-bit JPEG shooting as your 'finished image', includes AF subject recognition based on machine learning in both OVF and live view shooting, and has some impressive video capabilities (including internal Raw video).

There's a lot to cover on the EOS-1D X Mark III, so let's get started with a rather lengthy list of key specifications before diving into just what this all means on the following pages.

We've added a new Smart Controller, allowing the user to operate the AF point and autofocus selection without releasing the AF-ON button. Menu and playback operations can be handled with ease using the high-definition LCD (approx. 2.1 million dots) full touch screen. Illuminated buttons allow for easier menu and playback operations in dark conditions while the high visibility viewfinder provides a sharp image that is easy to view even when wearing glasses. Equipped with PN illumination and a dot-matrix display, the camera's viewfinder can display key elements in red, making it easier to view the information in very dark or extremely bright conditions.

Outstanding Stills And Video

With a new Canon CMOS sensor and powerful new DIG! C X processing, image quality even at high ISO is taken to even greater levels of quality. This is along with 4K video at 60p plus the options of capturing RAW video or 10-bit video with Canon Log, both recorded internally to CFexpress cards. A new bright viewfinder ensures you are connected to your subject in real time with zero lag.

A new smart controller optical device has been built into the AF-on button to enable a faster and more intuitive selection of autofocus points. Newly developed 20.1 megapixel Canon CMOS sensor. The latest sensor provides stunning clarity and low-light performance.

Excepting landscape and studio specialists that need massive amounts of megapixels, the EOS-1D X Mark III is the most well-rounded, well-specced camera currently on the market for both stills and video shooters that have the requisite funds. Canon is aiming for the 1D X III to be relevant for professional users for years to come, despite the ever-increasing pace of innovation and ever-decreasing length of product cycles in the industry.

The 3.15” LCD touchscreen interface makes it easy and intuitive to change settings, select focus points and review images.

With built-in Wi-Fi, you can easily download images and shoot them remotely via your smartphone or tablet using the Canon Camera Connect App. Additional connectivity is available via gigabit ethernet and 2.4GHz/ 5GHz dual-band WFTE9A wireless file transmitter.

Tips for protecting your children online

In today's digital age, ensuring your children's safety while they browse the internet is paramount. As they explore the vast online world through smartphones, gaming consoles, laptops, and other devices, it's essential to implement measures to shield them from potentially harmful content and interactions. Here are some tips to help you safeguard your children online:

1. Communication is Key

Open and ongoing communication with your children about online safety is crucial. Discuss the potential dangers they may encounter online, such as pornography, cyberbullying, and violent content. Encourage them to come to you with any concerns or questions they may have.

2. Set Clear Boundaries

Establish clear rules and boundaries regarding internet usage. Define appropriate time limits for browsing and specify which websites and apps are off-limits. Make sure your children understand the consequences of violating these rules. You can also restrict some of these apps or online content utilising device level parental controls explained below.

3. Utilise Parental Controls

Take advantage of the parental control features available on devices and internet browsers. These controls allow you to block access to specific websites, set age-appropriate content filters, and monitor your children's online activities. Familiarise yourself with the parental control options on smartphones, gaming consoles, and laptops to effectively manage your children's online experiences.

4. Educate Yourself

Stay informed about the latest trends and technologies related to online safety. Familiarise yourself with popular social media platforms, gaming communities, and messaging apps that your children may use, including the functions they provide. This knowledge will help you understand the potential risks and take appropriate action to protect your children.

5. Monitor Their Online Activities

Regularly monitor your children's online activities to ensure they are adhering to the rules and staying safe. Keep an eye on their browsing history, social media interactions, and messaging apps. Be vigilant for any signs of cyberbullying or exposure to inappropriate content.

6. Encourage Safe Online Behavior

Teach your children about the importance of practicing safe online behavior. Remind them never to share personal information, such as their full name, address, or phone number, with strangers online. Encourage them to think critically about the content they encounter and to report anything that makes them feel uncomfortable or unsafe.

7. Lead by Example

Be a positive role model for your children by demonstrating responsible and respectful online behavior yourself. Show them how to navigate the internet safely and responsibly, and emphasize the importance of treating others with kindness and empathy online.

8. Reporting abuse, making complaints and finding more information
